Push the Boat Out is a registered charity. Your help is vital in supporting us to keep offering this unique, vibrant, eclectic festival, alongside our growing community engagement and year round programmes. So donate today or become one of our friends, and be part of our crew.

With your help we can continue to contribute to increasing the diversity of poetry – in form, by supporting exciting collaborations with other art forms, and by highlighting work by artists from communities whose voices are under-represented in the arts and literature – as well as welcoming new people to enjoy poetry as a meaningful part of their everyday lives.

Through our engagement programme we also support people to get involved in poetry who might not otherwise have the chance. We offer free festival tickets and also deliver programmes of creative activities. Partners in this programme include schools, and organisations like the Simon Community Scotland, SCOREScotland, and Poverty Alliance Scotland.

Please consider supporting us with a donation to help us weather these stormy seas and sail on to smoother waters. Even a small amount can help us to pay artists fairly, cover travel to the festival, offer our free development support to poets and work with communities in Edinburgh. It helps us to keep our tickets affordable with a number of free and Pay What You Can events, and to increase accessibility with hybrid events and BSL interpretation.
