Push the Boat Out is now a registered charity. Donations from people like you are vital in supporting us to keep offering this unique, vibrant, eclectic festival, alongside our growing community and year round programmes. With your help we can continue to contribute to increasing the diversity of poetry – in form, cross-art form pollination, voices platformed and who feels welcome as audiences and participants.

The unexpected changes to our 2024 festival plans unfolded just two days before we were due to launch. Since then we have been grateful for all of the support from our artists, friends, partners and funders, and to our wonderful new venues Dance Base, Dovecot Studios, Pleasance and the Scottish Storytelling Centre who stepped forward to offer us their spaces and allow the festival to go ahead. 

Due to the timing of the changes, we have incurred additional costs and any support you can give will help the organisation sail on to smoother waters.

Please consider supporting us with a donation to help us weather these stormy seas and sail on to smoother waters. Even a small amount can help us to pay artists fairly, cover travel to the festival, offer our free development support to poets and work with communities in Edinburgh. It helps us to keep our tickets affordable with a number of free and Pay What You Can events, and to increase accessibility with hybrid events and BSL interpretation.
