We’re thrilled to be collaborating with the City of Literature Leeuwarden to present our latest online poetry writing workshop with Preston Losack, host of Preston’s Poetry Podcast.
Join Preston on Wednesday 17 September as we dive into poems from a technical and formal perspective, exploring how structure, pattern, and form shape meaning. Through close reading, markup, and breakdown of selected works, we’ll uncover how form meets content — and apply these insights to our own writing. Expect an inspiring, hands-on session designed to sharpen your editing, reading, and writing practices.
Preston Losack (b. 1991, Dallas) used to live in a monastery, and that affected his way he lives his life and writes today outside the cloister. He finds the sublime in ordinary things and has a huge drive to inspire people in his community to love humanity and value authentic connection as deeply as he does. Writing poetry is often a fitting instrument to do this. He cherishes the canon in some ways, but he is committed in his work to making that canon more inclusive and accessible. That’s why he started Preston’s Poetry Podcast, with the aim of tearing down barriers to reading and writing poetry. The podcast has reached thousands of unique listeners in more than 60 countries on just about every podcasting platform since it was started.
