Sasha Dugdale

Sasha Dugdale has published six poetry books with Carcanet. Deformations (2020) was shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot and the Derek Walcott Prizes. Her most recent work is The Strongbox (2024). She won a Forward Prize in 2016 for her long poem 'Joy', and her poetry collection Joy was a Poetry Book Society Choice. Dugdale is a translator of Russian and Ukrainian literature, and her translation of Maria Stepanova's In Memory of Memory was shortlisted for the International Booker, Warwick Women in Translation and James Tait Black Prizes. Her translations of Natalya Vorozhbit’s plays have been staged at the Royal Court, the RSC, and internationally. She is former editor of Modern Poetry in Translation and a Fellow of the RSL.
