Mátyás Dunajcsik

Mátyás Dunajcsik is a queer, polyglot punk poet who was born in Budapest (Hungary) in 1983 and has lived in Berlin (Germany) since 2023. The recent themes of his writings are multilinguality, language change, anti-authoritarianism, queer liberation and their connection with questions of sex and intimacy. Since publishing several books and translations in Hungarian, he has released two volumes written in German: Verlorene Gedichte (Lost Poems) with Parasitenpresse (Cologne, 2023) and the essay PUNK in the Edition Poeticon series by Verlagshaus Berlin (Berlin, 2024). He has received numerous stipends for his work in German, most recently from the Academy of Arts in Berlin (2021), the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony (2022), and the German Literature Fund (2024). He is an active member of the Berlin queer community and works with the collective Proteus on the inclusivity of trans and non-binary folks into the gay kink and BDSM scene.
