Keeks Mc
Keeks Mc is a Glaswegian poet who writes and performs solely in colourful and descriptive Scots language. Her work, written with a fresh, unique voice blending acerbic wit, candour and raw emotion, focuses on lived experience and providing a social commentary on contemporary events, from the mundane to the monstrous. Keeks is passionate about language conservation and poetry as cathartic self expression. She is currently working on a number of projects exploring this theme including performances and workshops.
Keeks' poems have been widely published and recognised both nationally and internationally. In 2023 she was awarded runner up in the Scots category of the Wigtown Poetry Prize and she has been shortlisted in the same category for the 2025 awards. In 2024 her work was highly commended in the McLellan Poetry Awards. Keeks' first two collections, Rede Wi Yer Hert (2021) and Contermacious Temerity (2023), were published by Dreich Publications, and her eagerly anticipated third collection is due to be published by Drunk Muse Press in spring 2026.
