Jamie Shields

Jamie is the owner of Ruma - Edinburgh's specliaist rum and cocktail bar. This will be his third year at Push The Boat Out, providing a unique opportunity to pair cocktails with poetry, pushing the boundaries of his creativity. With a passion for good booze, history, and storytelling, Jamie has been running drinks tasting events in Edinburgh and Glasgow for the last ten years. In March 2024 he opened Ruma, along with business partner Steven, to celebrate the varied world of rum from Scotland, the Caribbean, and farther afield. As well as having Scotland's largest rum selection, Ruma has a fantastic cocktail list including some of Jamie's own creations like the Madinina - Martinican rum, orange liqueur, toasted coconut, peach and orange tea, and lime.
