Imogen Stirling
Imogen Stirling is a playwright and performance poet creating hybrid work that is startling, expressive and accessible. Her show Love The Sinner, produced by Vanishing Point, debuted at the Tron Theatre and Traverse Theatre to five-star reviews across the board. It was nominated for three CATS Awards, including Best New Play, and is currently touring Scotland. She represented Scotland at Tranpoesie Festival in Brussels, was commissioned to open the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival and created a performance poetry/drum&bass fusion contemporising the myth of Persephone for Push The Boat Out/National Theatre of Scotland. She is currently writing a new play about the history of victim-blaming in Scotland, supported by Playwrights' Studio Scotland. Imogen features on Sky Arts’ BAFTA-winning television show, Life & Rhymes and was shortlisted for the Out-Spoken Prize for Poetry. Benjamin Zephaniah called her writing: ‘The work of a lyrical genius.’
