Gillian Dawson

Gillian Dawson is a member of St Mungo’s Mirrorball, Glasgow’s poetry network – she curates the weekly Mirrorball Museletter. Gillian is a campus library manager at the University of the West of Scotland. With a previous career in archaeology, she feels most at home outdoors and, until the pandemic, her weekends were spent as a conservation volunteer leader with the National Trust for Scotland. A member of Clydebuilt 12 mentored by John Glenday, she was shortlisted for the Wigtown Poetry Prize 2020 and 2023, commended in the Federation of Writers Scotland annual competition in 2022 and 2023 and winner of Gutter and Edwin Morgan Trust’s ‘All Things Are Possible’ Poetry Competition 2021. Poems have been published in journals and anthologies including: Conversations in Stone (Anthology of the Hugh Miller Writing Competition, 2019), The Edwin Morgan Centenary Collection (Speculative Books, 2020), Gutter, Northwords Now, Poetry Scotland and Magma.
