
Craig Aitchison
Craig Aitchison has published fiction in publications including Northwords Now and Southlight. His poetry has appeared in Poetry Scotland, New Writing Scotland, Nutmeg and the Tapsalteerie collection Sleekit. He received a New Writers Award from the Scottish Book Trust for writing in Scots. In 2023 he won the Badenoch Prize and the Wigtown Poetry Prize for Scots.
In 2025 Craig published a long poem about the River Tweed which was launched at a sold-out event at the Borders Book Festival. This year he has had work published in New Writing Scotland, with work forthcoming in Crimebits and an anthology to celebrate 100 years of Hugh MacDiarmid’s A Drunk Man Looks At The Thistle.
His first full poetry collection will be published in May 2026. He is currently working on a novella in Scots and English and a crime novel.
