Zain Rishi

Zain Rishi is a writer from Birmingham. He graduated with a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Edinburgh and has since worked in independent bookselling. He writes about the relationship between the body and language. In 2025, he won the 27th Annual Ware Poets Competition and was shortlisted for the Poetry Wales Award. His work has been featured in publications such as Magma, Fourteen Poems, Wildness, Horizon, Gutter, Propel and various anthologies. His debut poetry pamphlet, Noon, is forthcoming with The Emma Press in February 2026. He is currently based in Edinburgh.
