Rock the Boat is Push the Boat Out’s longstanding monthly open mic! We’re currently presenting at Inspace Gallery with dates programmed through until June 2025. You can also look out for some pop-up appearances over the summer.

Rock the Boat is a great, welcoming and safe place to try out new work – or even to step up the mic for the very first time. Though we are an anglophone open mic, poets often perform multilingually, and we particularly encourage poets to share work in Gaelic and Scots. Find out about our next event here.

Push the Boat Out’s podcast, A Break in the Waves, gives you a chance to kick back and interrupt your day/twitter feed/doom-scrolling with poetry and poetry chat for the ears.

Starting in 2024, we are offering an online international workshop series giving you the chance to hear from, learn from and be inspired by some of the best poets from across the globe.
