Bringing the Self to Poetry Performance
Slim Shaka, Kenyan poet, storyteller, artivist and 65th Poetry Slam Africa Champion, has written, directed and performed seven poetry productions. Join him in a workshop that will give you the confidence to tell your own story through poetry performance. Understanding your personality and core values will serve as a tool for the transformation of written expression into dynamic, live performance. Something only you can do or embody. This journey from page poetry to the stage moves beyond translating words into action, and into harnessing the energy of human nature and storytelling to empower you to embody your story, as you shift from the quiet introspection of writing to the bold act of performance.
