
Loud Poets Slam Series: Edinburgh Heat
The prestigious Loud Poets Slam Series returns for its third year! Watch Edinburgh’s top poets compete in the first of 10 heats taking place across Scotland and England for the biggest prize in UK slam poetry. Featuring current Edinburgh Champion Heather Rose as sacrificial poet, this slam heat held at Push the Boat Out is a thumping celebration of some of the best spoken word coming out of Scotland today.

I Am Loud started in 2014 as Loud Poets, a live spoken word poetry showcase. Since then they have grown into a multidisciplinary production and entertainment company while keeping live events at the heart of their work. From monthly shows to open mics, tours, and festival performances, I Am Loud showcases the best of spoken word work coming out of Scotland today.

Hosted by Harriet MacMillan, Imtiaz will speak about the collection and show projections of the illustrations within.

Kadija Sesay and Neo Gilson come together to share their poetry and discuss how they have used the artform as a tool of activism. Neo’s work has appeared as part of Window to my World: Poetry, Resistance and Justice, while Kadija has just edited the new literary anthology, Encounters with James Baldwin.
