A Life of Poetry: Alexander McCall Smith
Renowned and much loved author Alexander McCall Smith is perhaps best known for acclaimed novels such as The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series and 44 Scotland Street series. But did you know that he’s also a poet? This event is a rare chance to see Alexander McCall Smith in a small and intimate event as he shares his love of poetry; a passion which has lasted a lifetime. Since lockdown, he has published two collections of poetry, where his fascination with the sounds of language, poetry, and music are apparent on the page. In this special event, Smith will discuss his work before giving you the chance to experience his poetry set to music in beautiful short films.
