Women Make Film: A New Road Movie Through Cinema

Directed by Mark Cousins

Sunday 6th November

11:00 am - 11:50 am

Red Lecture Theatre

At times a love letter, at other times an encyclopaedia; Women Make Film is a beautiful, educational, meditative, and essential documentary you don’t want to miss. Its 14 hours are a result of a genuine respect and an admiration towards 13 decades of women mastering the art of filmmaking. Narrated by Tilda Swinton, Jane Fonda, Thandiwe Newton.

A prolific documentarian devoted to uncovering and celebrating hidden gems of film history, Edinburgh-based Mark Cousins is a daring and meticulous filmmaker. Cousins is well known to the world for his fifteen hours long documentary The Story of Film: An Odyssey, which was described as a cinematic event of the year by The Telegraph.
